A standard premium up to the age of 18 makes it possible to take out private health insurance for children and young people at a very affordable rate. The monthly entry-level premium ranges from €55 to €65, depending on the federal state of residence, and provides comprehensive cover as well as access to private healthcare services. Upon reaching the age of 19, the policy switches to the most affordable adult premium.

Yes, private accident insurance is particularly advisable for children. Every year, one in seven children suffers an accident-related injury that requires medical treatment.
