Private health insurance for children

Free choice of doctor: Get around the shortage of paediatricians with health insurance contracts and choose the doctors you trust without having to worry about the costs.

Special class in hospital: If inpatient treatment is necessary, young patients are given a single room and the best possible comfort.

Accident insurance for children

Free accompanying person in hospital: If your child is hospitalised due to an accident, the accident insurance will cover the costs of an accompanying person.
Immediate benefits for multiple bone fractures: Rapid financial support without having to wait for an expert opinion.
School absence allowance: If your child misses at least 14 days of school due to an accident, you and your child will receive a school absence allowance. This allows your child to catch up on missed schoolwork without stress by taking private lessons.
Helmet bonus: Increased capital benefit in the event of permanent disability by 25% if your child was wearing a ski or bicycle helmet at the time of the accident.
Free co-insurance for your newborn: Simply insure your baby free of charge until they are 12 months old.

Why is it useful to make provisions for children?

A child provision plan complements the daily care provided by parents by offering an important glimpse into the future: it provides the ideal start to an independent life and makes it possible for your child to realise their dreams and achieve their milestones. At the same time, it also provides for children in the event of the death of their parents. Whether for your own child, grandchild or godchild, providing for your children means not only securing their future, but also enabling them to fulfil their dreams.

Why do I need private health insurance for my child?

With supplementary health insurance, you have freedom of choice when it comes to doctors and therapists for your child. This means you are no longer at the mercy of the shortage of paediatricians and the general shortage of doctors with health insurance contracts, but can decide for yourself on the best medical care for your child. You also benefit from quick appointments and shorter waiting times.

How much does private supplementary insurance for children cost?

A standardised rate until the age of 18 makes it possible to insure children and young people privately at a very low cost. Depending on the federal state of residence, the monthly entry-level premium is between €55 and €65 and provides comprehensive insurance and access to private medical services. At the age of 19, the premium is converted to the most affordable adult premium.

Is accident insurance for children a good idea?

Yes, private accident insurance is particularly useful for children. Every year, one in seven children suffers an accident injury that requires medical treatment. The most common types of accidents include falls, poisoning and chemical burns, scalds and burns. Children's accidents also happen primarily in the home or during leisure time. However, statutory health insurance only covers accidents that occur during kindergarten, school and on the way to school, among other things. Only private accident insurance offers your child the medical care they need when it matters.

What is the term of a life insurance policy for children?

Life insurance for children is primarily intended to secure your offspring's future independence. That is why a contract term of 15 to 25 years is recommended. You can extend the contract term or increase the sum insured in certain circumstances (e.g. birth of another child, marriage, purchase of property).
