At Allianz, we attach great value to social responsibility and social commitment. Actions such as the SOS Children's Village, activities for the Gruft or donations for e. motion-Lichtblickhof are not only actively supported by the company - our employees also volunteer to fulfil big and small wishes and just to be there.
SOS Children's Village is probably our oldest partner in the field of social engagement. Generations of our employees have been supporting the SOS Children's Village for more than 50 years. Many Allianz employees whether internal or external, from independent agencies, and even pensioners, donate or do voluntary work to support small and large projects within the framework of Allianz Highlights. In 2010, for example, a children's and young people's home was built in Hinterbrühl - construction costs of 450,000 euros. Heinz Nußbaumer, then Chairman of the Board of Management of SOS Children's Villages in Lower Austria, emphasized: "What happens here and what happened in your company - in the workforce, works council and board - goes beyond all dimensions. This is an 'Alliance of Good' which is unparalleled". We also support the pastoral care hotline "Rat auf Draht" for children and young people, which is operated by the SOS Children's Village.
For more than 30 years, Allianz employees and agency partners have been serving the good cause and serving punch in front of the General Directorate during the Christmas season. The net proceeds, which are raised in the process, are passed on directly to the association e. motion-Lichtblickhof, which promotes equotherapy – the treatment of children and adolescents with the help of specially trained horses. The special form of therapy and work in Vienna and Lower Austria at the Lichtblickhof is supported exclusively by donations and helps to accompany children and adolescents on their way through crises or during the processing of traumatic experiences back to a happy and healthy life.
Great tradition in Allianz go far above money donations. Clothes and donations in kind are also gladly given to support The Gruft, which was founded many years ago by Caritas and the Archdiocese of Vienna. Below the Church of Mariahilf, homeless people are offered a shower and overnight accommodation, as well as warm meals and psychiatric care. The Allianz Works Council calls for clothing donations at the beginning of the cold season if necessary.
Regionale Projekte in Österreich
Regional projects of our employees throughout Austria represent an essential part of our social engagement. Local service teams and Allianz agencies support people in the region who are dependent on support on their own responsibility with many charity actions.
